The theme this week is "You are unique!" This week we are learning about the parts of the body.  Each book, song, and rhyme is thematically linked by this topic.  The questions we are exploring is "How are we the same? How are we different?"  Here is a google slide deck with book and song suggestions. The goal is for children to learn the vocabulary for body parts, as well as rich language to describe using the body parts.  We also want children to hear rhyme and rhythm to develop their phonological awareness. This is an important foundation skill for learning to read and spell.  Children who sing and participate in read alouds from birth to 6 are reading and spelling at grade level by the end of second grade.  1,000 books before Kindergarten! #1KB4K
